Nyon Steede won the Breeder of the Year Award 2008 for a single spawning of Nandopsis tetracanthus for which he was awarded 23 points (20 points for a Class D species plus 3 point bonus as this was the first time this species has been spawned in our BAP). Klaus Gebhardt came in second with 20 points (10 for Gymogeophagus Gymnogenis “Arnaud” and 10 points for Archocentrus Nigrofasciatus - both being Class B species that don’t require an article), Howard Paynter came in third with 10 points (for a Class B Gymnogeophagus Gymongenis “Labiatus”) and Simon Onabowale came in fourth with 5 points (for a Class A Poecilia Orri). It might be said that Howard Paynter was the most successful breeder as he was able to rear four spawns (Cryptoheros Spilurus, Australoheros, Nadopsis Haitiensis, Gymongeophagus Gymnogenis “Labiatus”) but because 3 of the species required articles, that he never wrote, most of his spawns did not generate any points.
